The Glasgow International Arena is one of Scotland's premier live event venues, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. To strengthen the venue's visual presence and improve audience engagement, a major external digital display project was commissioned to transform the arena's exterior with high-impact LED technology.
Advise
Working in partnership with Twelve01 Events, SSUK helped define a digital display strategy that would maximise visibility while integrating effectively with the arena's existing structure. Consideration was given to viewing distances, environmental conditions, structural requirements and long-term operational performance.
Plan
A detailed delivery plan was developed covering structural design, electrical infrastructure, procurement, installation methodology and specialist access requirements. Given the scale of the project, significant coordination was required across structural, electrical and AV disciplines.
Deliver
SSUK delivered the installation of multiple large-format external LED displays, together with supporting control systems, electrical infrastructure and structural mounting systems. The project required specialist access equipment, detailed logistical planning and close coordination across multiple contractors working within a live venue environment.
Support
Following installation, SSUK completed system setup, commissioning and programming, ensuring all displays were fully operational and ready for content deployment. The solution was designed to support ongoing content management and reliable operation in a demanding external environment.
